March 2013 Astrophotography Contest Winner:

well i finaly got somthing i am happy with to post, M42 15 frames of 180 sec each on the osc orion G-3 attached to an orion ED80T apo on the skyview pro mount. it was about 20 deg and crystal clear. moderate to light light polution.

This was my first attempt at useing layer mask and gaussian blur.

This site was designed for the Astrophotography community. Where amateurs astronomers can share their AP experiences. Share processing ideas, and techniques. I have found many of the larger sites talk "in general" about processing, and often processing is expressed as "I applied Levels, and Curves"! What?!? How do you apply Levels, and Curves?

My hope is this site will grow with tutorials that will help amateurs and veterans astronomers learn how to create fantastic astro images!
