Elephant Bi Color with Pixel Math

Just having some fun with some data I found. I only got 8x1200 of Ha and OIII of this with the WO GT71 and my ATIK One camera. I sold the camera and never finished the data. I played around in pixel math to pull this out. Noisy but still fun.

Re: Rosette with RC8 Revision 1

Thanks MIke. I have redone it yet again. I'll post it later today. It's all I have to work with so I keep playing with it. I even went on Astrobin and downloaded some of Chris Gomez's files to play with.

Rosette with RC8 Revision 1

Here is the first draft of the top right corner of the Rosette shot with my RC8 and QSI 60 HA 26x1200 OIII 21x1200 SII 18x1200 I processed it pretty fast late at night in Pixinsight and it''s to contrasty, I plan to redo the process and see what I can do to make it better taking my time. Probably th...

Re: Meteor at Home

Thanks Guys. My processing pretty much sucks! :what: :jumphappy: I freaked out when I looked at the images and saw that. I remember I kept seeing these little things zinging around in the sky while I was setting up the shot and paid no attention to it. I figured all my years of partying was paying a...

1st Milky Way Shot

Finally got the chance to try capturing the Milkyway with my Nikon D750. I'm going to get proficient at this no matter how long it takes. Only had an hour until the sun came up but it was more of a test to see if I could do it more than anything else. The Nikon 12-24mm lens has a lot of coma in it s...

Re: when to do a meridian flip?

There is and I think it is on the Stellarium Scope site. Not positive. In SgPro it tells you the meridian time which is a great help. Different targets are going to have different times as you know. If you are shooting the same target each night mark the time for tonight and then deduct about 5 to 1...

Re: New Gear Too!

Yep no problem as long as you use the DEC Bar and two of their weights. I just used it this weekend with my WO GT 71 and did not have a problem

Re: Greetings From New Yorks Finger Lakes!

Glad you found your way here. It's a great place to learn. I started here two years ago after the purchase of my first scope and all of these guys were really patient and helpful with me.

Stick around and ask questions.

Re: Weather

Same here. It's been like this for months. I'm beginning to think the tin foil hat wearing whackos might be right about the government and their HARP mission to seed the clouds.

I'm sick of it.

Re: Time lapse at Gayle Beck Lodge

Hey Gordon great job as always. Question for you? Could you touch on how long you set your interval between shots? I know there is not one fits all but just the basics would be helpful. I always get a little confused between milky way imaging with or without the Rhino slider or when I'm imaging some...

New Gear Too!

Same here as Rick. Got the new Explore Scientific DD127 FCD 100 Series. Have not used it yet due to weather. Put an extension on my Losmandy G11 which is great because it really helps with Meridian Flips Got featured by Universe Today for a day on Instagram Got my website finished with forum and the...

Hey There Doug!

Long time no Talk! Good to have you back. No worries on the getting behind because all I have is clouds. I have never seen anything like it. I have had only 1 night this year to image. Sucks

Re: January Astrophotography Contest

Both are great images and both are on my bucket list. That's the first time I've seen Carina in anything but RGB. I did not know you could shoot Narrowband on it. I'm finishing up the gaming star and plan on the ole monkey boy next. What's a monkeys head doing in space. He better watch out for pacman

I'm still here. I've started a website with a forum page and let me tell you it's a lot of work. Doug has been really busy with family and home repairs and I know he is wanting to get back to the site. Hang in there it will get better.
