NGC7000

First image of my short season. Still learning PixInsight and I need feedback so any comments are very welcome. Found that one of my problems is that my eyes start playing tricks on me. When I return to the an image I thought was nice I find that I am not satisfied. https://astrob.in/374932/0/rawthu...

New Mount

Wanting to purchase a premium mount I sold my AZ-EQ6 but unforeseen expenses made that impossible so what to do. I decide on a iOptron CEM60 which I think will be an upgrade on what I had. Also got the adapter to mount on my pier in my “Mini” observatory. At this time of year in Norway the skies are...

Seasons end

Hi Guys I want to thank you all, especially Sean, for your support this season. My season is over due to disappearing darks skies. Living under the midnight sun has its pros and cons, so its time to pack up and make room for my summer hobbies. Greenhouse needs cleaning and my fishing gear dusting of...

Two steps forward one step back

Started setting up my mini observatory (not finished), got my new Sesto Senso focus motor mounted, then my LodeStar X2 decide to quite on me. So first clear skies I’ve seen in a long time ended with mixed feeling. The Senso worked great (working on setup), but it focused with no problems both manual...

Re: Mini observatory

Thanks Gardenfish
Where I live high temps are no problem. I will be moving my equipment inside from May to September because I loose dark skies to the midnight sun. My season runs from the middle of September to the end of April.

Mini observatory

Finishing up my mini observatory, I’m tired of carrying everything out just to have the skies cloud over. This is a light weight plywood shell that will be screwed to the deck where my pier comes through. It hinges completely over (180). I am building an internal box to house my pc and power supply ...

Right now I'm shooting with the Edge 8, I think the motor will also fit the skywatcher when I start with the galaxies.

Re: IC410

Thanks Sean Wife does not want me running back and forth into freezing temperatures, she actually suggested I get an auto-focuser. After looking around at different solutions I decided to replace my focuser with a Starlight Instruments FeatherTouch and Sesto Senso motor system. It seems compact and ...

Center of Rosette Nebula

http://astrob.in/332539/B/rawthumb/gallery/get.jpg?insecure This is my first attempt at the center NGC 2244. After tossing bad sub I ended up with 110x120s Ha, 50x120s OIII and 40x120s SII at unity. I am still working on getting to grips with processing, for this image I used AstroPixelPro for pre-...
