Re: Astronomik UHC Filter - Color issues

I wanted a LP filter to assist with light pollution as I mage about 20 m from a street light and have a municipal floodlight close by , the clip filter would also protect my DSLR ccd from dusts etc.

I never realized that this filter would also block most of HA wave length.

Astronomik UHC Filter - Color issues

Hi Guys I recently purchased the Astronomik UHC Clip in filter to use with my modified Canon 1100d , i tried a trial version of PI and PS CS6 ,I can just not able to extract any color from it. Either it stays green or reverts to a black and whitish image. I tried a wide field with my 50mm lens , and...

Re: M45 is becoming my nemesis

Got 5 hours on M45 the last two months or so ,using a DSLR obviously limits me to moonless nights only ,November to end January we are lucky to get 5-10 nights of relatively clear evenings. But we shall see what the rest of this month brings.Good luck with your image.

Re: DSS - Grey /Rgb issues

I found the issue ,not DSS fault at all,I accidentally ticket the Save as debayered images when processing RAW images box and seems to have saved the images in RGB mode , I checked all my other images are in 16bit Gray scale mode. Took the tick off and now all my images are in the same mode and cali...

DSS - Grey /Rgb issues

Hi guys

I am trying to stack images from two different night using exactly the same equipment , DSS sees one nights images as grey-scale and the other as rgb , thus it will not stack the images I pre calibrated , PS sees them all as rgb.

Camera Nikon D7000
Any advice?

Thanks Andre

It is even awesome from my extremely light polluted area , the image from my 8"reflector is great ,I visit this cluster often when visible.I once viewed it from a dark site and it sure puts a smile on your face.

Re: Trifid Nebula -M20

Thank you Zach , I image about 25m from a 275 watt streetlight ,I pulled the fuse on it for about 5 days and used these exposures to stack ,I deleted 59 images I took before disabling the light.

Cheers Andre

Lagoon Nebula -M8 Coma spoiled what I thought to be fairly good data 87 x 300 sec ,ISO 400 ,Dark's & Flats +- 60 Exposure used 7.10 hours , deleted 3,45 hours LP related. (The Lens Correction Tool in CS6 sorted 75% of the coma errors but unfortunately it does distort the whole image to the extent th...
