NGC281

Post by Ken_nneth » Tue Dec 12, 2017 5:29 am

NGC281 taken with my ASI1600, Baader narrowband filters. Weather cut short my imaging evening, so I only got 20x180s Ha and 15x180s OIII. Still learning how to process my images, this image processed with Astro Pixel Processor in combination with PixInsight and finished with PhotoPad. I would really like some feedback.

Looking good! You've got some gradients to work out, maybe you can use dymnamic background extraction in Pixinsight so smooth out the background. Keep at it!

It's nice Ken. Its got a lot of saturation of color which is what we all battle with. Try dialing back the color and just let it come out naturally and see where you get. You might want to try using the color mask script in pixinsight in order to control each variation. I'm trying to do a video on that script so you can see what I mean.

You are definately getting data and thats a good thing. The 1600 is not an easy camera to get under control. I chickened out on it and sold mine. I like the idea of one setting and one exposure. Keep going it's looking good.
