1st try at M1

Post by gardenfish » Fri Dec 29, 2017 3:28 pm

This is my first time shooting M1. Iam going to shoot again tonight for more data. So far all 900s subs, 13-Ha, 8-OIII, 7-SII, for 7 hrs. 10 darks. Do not like my latest flats so going to shoot flats later and use in the final. Going for at least 2 nights hoping it stays clear a bit so I can get 3-4 nights and 21-28 hrs total

The jpeg looks terrible,it looks ok here in png, but I will post a link later when it has more time and flats and such.

Thanks Sean. The pic here really looks awful compared to the original. This is the pixelmath equation I will try when I get more subs. The pic here was done in PS.

R/K: 0.8*Ha + 0.2*SII
G: OIII
B: 0.8*OIII + 0.2*Ha

I set up to get more last night but it is too close to the moon and the first 2 subs had reflections so I moved to the double cluster and did 45ea. r-g-b @ 90s. I set it to shoot r-g-b-r-g-b-r-g-b-......with auto focus on each filter change so each sub is focused. Woke up this morning and again the auto flip worked and all 45subs of r-g-b were waiting for me :15: .

Going to see the difference with the Astrodons and Tak scope as compared to last years Astronomics and ES127 Double cluster shot when I get home from work today.
