IC410

Still working on my processing, but just had to post the first subs I have been attempting to collect. The weather is really bad so I have to find something to do. I need to learn how to use star mask to reduce star sizes in addition to all the rest. These are the first subs, 40 of each Ha, OIII and SII. Tried using a new color pallet, R: SII+50%Ha, G: OIII and B:OIII+40%Ha. I would like some feedback to keep me on the right track, it’s to easy to get sidelined and end up way out in the woods.

Hey Kenneth, it looks great. I think you are getting your focus under control. I'm not sure that I have ever seen that color pallet for the tadpoles but hey its narrowband, who cares!! right?

As far as the stars go try using the Ha shot as your LUM channel in a LRGB Combine. By inserting the Ha channel back into your image as the LUM it will shrink your stars and it will also add detail back into the image.

Looking good. You're getting better and better. Go look at your first posts and you will see.

Thanks Sean
Wife does not want me running back and forth into freezing temperatures, she actually suggested I get an auto-focuser. After looking around at different solutions I decided to replace my focuser with a Starlight Instruments FeatherTouch and Sesto Senso motor system. It seems compact and will add little weight compared to some other systems. I have now added the feathertouch but I haven’t received the motor system yet. Looking forward to not have to run out and focus all the time, do you have any experience with autofocusing?

Yeah I know all to well about keeping the wife happy. Good luck with that motor. Let me know how it works out. I use moonlight but have not tried any others. I'll be interested in knowing how it goes. What scope are you shooting with?

Right now I'm shooting with the Edge 8, I think the motor will also fit the skywatcher when I start with the galaxies.

Tried with a SHO palette, at least it started as SHO. I might have over done it a bit.Tried with a SHO palette, at least it started as SHO. I might have over done it a bit.

I like it. Are you using Pixinsight or Photo Shop?

I can help you in Pixinsight if you like. Would you like me to try and process it for you just to see what the two of us can do? If so You can upload your three data images to drop box and I'll do a video to show you what I do.

You have really come a long way fast. You must have that same passion that I have. A year ago I was producing garbage. :jumphappy: :jumphappy:

Added more data and reprocessed. Again, started out with SHO palette but this time decided to go a with a little lighter color. Now I have about 10-11 hours of data, last set was taken with some wind so a lot had to be deleted and maybe the stars could be a little effected. Please comment, need all the feedback I can get.
