Finally FIXED plate solving in SGP

Post by h2opolo » Thu Jun 01, 2017 6:03 pm

It always turns out to be something stupid.

All this time I misunderstood scale size for pixel size.

I was entering 4.54 in the pixel scale which is fine if you want to know what pixel size it.

I stumbled on a page calculator that gave me the right number to put which for the ATIK 460 on a ED102 is 1.31 without a reducer

I entered that number into SGP and clicked on plate solve and it solve 5 different shots in less than 3 seconds. Finally I can use Frame and Mosaic along with Centering

Oops I'm sorry I meant to post it. Here it is. Use the first one the resolution calculator. It's dead on

https://astronomy.tools/calculators/ccd

Basically its pixel size divided by focal length

Here is another one I found that is free to download
