Manual PI Flats Question

Post by h2opolo » Mon Jul 17, 2017 9:55 pm

Hey I have another question though.

When you calibrate your Narrowband flats manually it calls for you to add your Master Dark and Master Bias in to make the flat.

When I made my Master Dark I made one for each exposure time 15-Minutes and 20-Minutes

Since I have 15 and 20 minute master darks and have to make a Flat for each Filter does that mean I need to make a flat for each exposure length for that filter as well.

So in essence I would end up with a

15minute_Ha_Dark_Bias_Flat

&

20minute_Ha_Dark_Bias_Flat

And the same for OIII and SII

Does that make sense?

I got this figured out. Thanks Chris.

The answer was to choose "optimize" in your master dark. That way PI automatically adjusts for darks shot at different exposure times.

Once again the answer was a mouse click
