Post Processing DSLR

Post by h2opolo » Mon Oct 16, 2017 6:22 am

Hey I have a bunch of dslr subs from this weekend with my sky guider and have totally forgotten how to process dslr images. I'm so used to narrowband that I don't remember how to set my points in PS to get rid of the light pollution. Doug do you have a video on this?

I think I'm supposed to click on one of the eye droppers and set the RGB boxes to 35 each and then click on a dark spot in the image if I'm not mistaken.

Anyway if you have a video on that and a video on how to process dslr RGB data I would appreciate it.

Chris Gomez was our resident dslr expert, but, he moved to a ccd. Not much help with dslr, I only process single milky-way shots.

Setting to 35 will only change and set your black point. To get rid of LP you need to use an LP filter in the imaging train. On my Nikon wide adapter you can screw the 2" lp filter in right before the sensor. You can try Carboni's LP removal if you have the add on.

Yeah I had a filter on it. I screwed an IDAS LPS D1 on the end of the flattener.

I'm gonna talk with chris. thanks

Ok but clicking the eyedropper and setting rgb at 35ea. only sets your blackpoint.
