Hi Everyone,

Does anybody know what has happened with the monthly imaging contest? Interest seems to have waned recently.

Terry.

Re: JUNE 2018 Astrophotography Contest

I have had weeks of clouds and other stuff. I got an image last month but no one else. I will probably get on for this month also. Have you gotten any decent shots lately? I have not seen much even in the imaging section.

Re: JUNE 2018 Astrophotography Contest

Okay, I'll start it off. Here's my effort for the month. Come on everyone enter some images and make a contest of it.

Rho Ophiuchi (IC 4603) is a brilliantly coloured interstellar cloud complex, one of the most vibrant and colourful nebulas in space and the closest star-forming region to the solar system. It is located approximately 460 light-years away from Earth. (Can anyone let me know how "Rho Ophiuchi" is pronounced?)

Re: JUNE 2018 Astrophotography Contest

Ok here is my Elephant's Trunk. Taken on 2 consecutive Sundays. Fist time I have tried the Trunk. Took the pics in the new Roll off Observatory. It is up and running. Still work to do but usable. Stats or on the Astrobin link

https://astrob.in/351792/B/

The Elephant's Trunk nebula is a concentration of interstellar gas and dust within the much larger ionized gas region IC 1396 located in the constellation Cepheus and is about 2,400 light years away.
