NGC 7822 SHO

Well look who's back! Finally back in the saddle. Here is my first test of the RC8. I had to dodge clouds and rain for weeks not to mention work on collimation for weeks to finally get an image to show. I was not able to get all the data that I wanted on this and will add to it.

21X1200 HA
18X1200 SII
14X1200 OIII

Shot with QSI 690 and RC8 on Losmandy G11g Mount, processed in Pixinsight

Good to be out shooting again. I'm working on a different target right now but will return to this shortly.

Re: NGC 7822 SHO

Hey look!!!!!!!!!

I shot this as my very first image through my RC8 and got a pick of the week out of Astrobin with it. I appreciate Europa taking a minute to look at it and say something. I was really excited about it.

Thank you Europa for taking a minute to comment on it. I really appreciate it. Keep posting. I'm looking forward to your next photo.

Re: NGC 7822 SHO

Sorry I missed this, but it is an excellent start. The collimation seems to be spot on, tracking is great and the processing is excellent. Having tried PI only once so far, I know the amount of work that goes into making an image this smooth. Nice work!

Re: NGC 7822 SHO

Thanks Mike, you have been around and so has Rick and Zach but we used to have so much fun here. I miss it.

Collimation was hard on that thing, especially with that collimation ring on the back.

Re: NGC 7822 SHO

I'm going t have to dust off my RC8 - I haven't used it in a while. If the weather up here settles down, I'll give it a go the next time around.

Re: NGC 7822 SHO

I thought I'd never get mine up and running. I went through 3 cameras , multiple reducers before I finally got the QSI 690 and just mimicked Chris Gomez's rig

Re: NGC 7822 SHO

Ok, enough with the mimicking. Be original. Take the next big leap. Forge new paths. Do what feels right to you.
