June 2009 Astrophotography Contest Winner:
Paramount

NGC6888 was taken with the Takahashi BRC-250 on a Paramount ME guided with a LVI smartguider. The camera was a Starlight Xpress SXVF H9 and Astronomik RGB filter.

NGC 6888 "The Crescent Nebula" in Ha which I took last night on June 17th with the same telescope/camera/mount combination as above. I was planning on using the LVI smartguider again but for some reason it kept coming up with a "motors not moving" during the callibration phase so I had to quickly disconnect the smartguider camera and replace it with my Starlight Xpress M8C one shot colour camera and because of the very small pixel size (3.15 micron) I used 2x2 binning to guide, as I didn't have a lot of time left I just used the bsic default settings in Maxim DL to guide which seemed to work fine, this is monochrome in Ha only but hopefully I will be adding the other emission line data at a later date to finish the colour off. It is 12x10 minutes

It is a colour version of the monochrome picture of the Crescent nebula with OIII added so that HaOIIIOIII = RGB
